42. If There Was A God

If there was a God
I would thank him for my sight,
with which I peruse the world
from all sides, and let me write.

If there was a God,
I’d applaud him for my chest
which I use to breathe and toke
’til no longer at its best.

If there was a God,
I’d adore him for the earth
that I’ve come to see and smoke,
and record for what it’s worth.

But there is no God;
that much I myself will say.
So for my reason and senses,
to myself I thank and pray.
